The Sweet Spot in Fremont is once again collecting new and gently used coats to donate to the International Rescue Committee a non-profit which provides emergency relief, lifesaving care and aids in the resettlement of refuges forced to flee their homes and countries due to war or disaster. The Seattle Public Library will host write-in sessions during November to celebrate National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). Each Library location listed below will have a quiet area for novelists-at-work to write, free Wi-Fi for research and plenty of outlets to keep that hard-working laptop fully charged. Library events are free and open to the public.

North Seattle College has learned that another student has died after succumbing to injuries sustained in the multi-vehicle accident on the Aurora Bridge that occurred on Thursday, Sept. 24. This student now makes five students in all who have lost their lives as a result of the devastating accident. Out of respect for the family

  This morning around 11:15, a Ride the Ducks vehicle crashed into a charter bus carrying 45 North Seattle College staff and students on the Aurora Bridge. Lieutenant Sue Stangl from Seattle Fire has confirmed four people were killed and twelve were in critical condition.  Many of the most critical were rushed to Harborview. This October, The Seattle Public Library is kicking off the Library’s first Booktoberfest—a celebration of books and beer at venues all over the city. Coming soon to a pub or Library near you, the events will include Librarians’ Revenge Trivia Rounds, ‘Ales from the Crypt: Spooky Stories ‘n Suds, Bookish Happy Hours and more. Everyone
