Fremont boutiques Dream and Bliss have a new little sister to add to their flock, this one named Finch & Sparrow (3420 Fremont Ave N).   This is the third shop for owners Neil Silverman and John Tseng, who describes this space (formerly Reprographics Northwest) as their “accessories store”.   This shop is all about the trimmings – mostly handbags, jewelry

Starting Wednesday, October 21, through October 28, Caffe Vita on Fremont Ave. is participating in the City of Seattle’s Green Eats Week.  Customers who purchase select items during this week will receive coupons good for composting.  The promotion was created by Seattle Public Utilities Food+Compostables program to highlight several local restaurants who are among the first to implement recyclable service

Today, the Seattle City Council unanimously agreed to move forward with the Alaskan Way Viaduct deep bored tunnel and Seawall Replacement.  According to the City press release, “The agreement authorized today outlines the city and state’s funding and construction responsibilities and outlines Seattle’s $927 million obligation to the project set for completion in 2018.”  The Council has been

A group of homeless men appear to be living off the stairs on N 43rd St between Palatine and Greenwood Ave in a small encampment.  The stairs lead to and from the #5 Metro route.  There have been no reports of trouble so far but as the days get darker earlier, a Fremont Universe reader sent us an email just so neighbors aren’t caught
