Let it be known, the Seattle Police are getting serious about traffic violations. Between the Great Aurora Ticket Bonanza and the recent crackdown on speeders traveling down Fremont Ave., the police had already upped the ante in the area. That’s before Thursday when they conducted pedestrian crosswalk enforcement patrols at N. 41st and Stone Way North.
The SPD Blotter reports that officers issued 40 “Right of Way Pedestrian” tickets, one ticket for failure to wear a bicycle helmet, two No Proof of Insurance tickets and one Expired Tabs ticket. Officers received numerous comments of appreciation and thanks from people in the neighborhood.
As always, be careful out there you guys. Bone up on pedestrian-related laws here.
