Abbey Arts presents a fresh lineup of concerts & events for the new year. In addition to hit monthly shows, The Round and The Moth, national touring acts Owen, Jessica Lea Mayfield, and Birds of Chicago will be swinging through to grace their intimate stage.  They’ve also got some great local acts like Daniel Blue (motopony), Lana McMullen, and young up & coming artists Katie Kuffell and Sophia Duccini playing at The Round with slam poets and live painters.

1/7* The Moth StorySLAM event @ Fremont Abbey

“A live amateur storytelling competition, in which audience members who put their names in a hat are randomly chosen to tell stories on a theme.”

1/10 Open Space Edition 3 @ Fremont Abbey

8:30-9:00pm. FREE. Contemplative music by candlelight. Bring cushions/pillows/blankets.  Edition 3 features music by Zadok, Lacey Brown, Matt Chism.   Doors open at 8:00.   FREE EVENT, all are welcome. Please silence all devices and no talking please.

1/12 The Round (128) – Musicians sharing the stage: Daniel Blue (motopony), Gabriel Wolfchild (as seen on The Voice), Katie Kuffel (Young Artist Program); Live painters: Matthew Brennan, Victoriana Dan (Young Artist Program); Slam poet: Sara Brickman

1/15*  The Maldives (acoustic), The Winterlings (album release), plus Harm (Alaska)

1/15*  The Moth StorySLAM @ St Mark’s

1/19     Open Arts Mic (FREE) – 7:30 signups, 8:00 performances.
