Thanks to Mayor McGinn’s Seattle Nightlife Initiative, five new late-night taxi stands are going up all over the city and one of them will be coming to Fremont.

The new taxi stand will be located at the corner of N. 36th Street and Francis Avenue, outside Ballroom and Caffee Ladro. It will be in operation between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. There will be space for three-to-five cabs to line up at a given time.

For those who drive to Fremont but need to take a taxi home, you’ll also be able to get a sticker from the meters that allows your car to be legally parked until 10 a.m.

The stands were originally supposed to go into affect during the summer but the program was delayed.

The other stands will be located Downtown and in Ballard, Capitol Hill and the University District.

Mayor McGinn introduced the new initiative during a press conference at the Fremont taxi stand spot on Tuesday.
