Who’s affected by the upcoming power outage? Did you get a letter?

Last week we wrote that there is a planned power outage this coming Thursday, May 19th in Fremont. Seattle City Light has fielded a few calls from people wondering if they’ll be impacted by the outage. Their answer: Did you get a letter?

“Our practice is to send letters directly to those customers who will experience the outage. We did that in this case,” Mark VanOss, Senior Public Relations Specialist for Seattle City Light says. “Another way of saying that is if a customer receives a planned outage letter they can expect to be without power. If they don’t receive a planned outage letter they can expect to have power.”

If you missed our previous post, the outage will begin at 11 p.m. During the four-hour outage, Seattle City Light will install equipment that will allow them to begin pulling electrical cable into place as part of the extension of underground power lines between Troll Ave N and Stone Way N on N 34th St.

The planned outage affecting your business/residence is required to safely reconnect the newly installed cables to the rest of the system.
