The Snowpocalypse Continues

Some news, notes and updates as you attempt to brave the snowy streets of Fremont.

King County Metro buses are running but in many cases extremely slow and delayed. If conditions persist, there is a chance they might cancel service on Tuesday altogether. Keep an eye on this site when you can for stopping, route changes and delays. Keep an eye on the 26 bus, it won’t be serving many Fremont stops today (Snow route here).

King County is urging residents not to drive if it’s at all possible. In case you didn’t hear, things got so bad last night on the I-5 that some folks just decided to put their cars in park and walk away.

All public schools are closed. Stock up on Redbox rentals and/or video games.

The University of Washington and Seattle Pacific University have also canceled classes.

All local courts are closed. Another day on the lam for you…

Don’t bother trying to drive up 41st Street between Fremont Ave. and Evanston Ave. I spent my evening watching folks attempt to make it up, only to slide right back down the hill, sometimes without control. I’m guessing a lot of the hilly side streets are exactly the same. And this morning the roads will be even icier.

Basically, the point is that you should probably just stay home today and if you need to go anywhere, just walk. Oh and take some time to snap photos of #SnowyFremont and post to Twitter. Stay warm, you guys.
