Just in time for the World Cup, The Market Arms, the much-anticipated pub at the corner of NW Market St and 24th Ave NW in Ballard, will officially open today at 11:30 a.m.  The establishment and its sister pub George and Dragon here in Fremont will be busy keeping soccer fans entertained.

The Market Arms will have more than a dozen brews on tap including Boddingtons, Kronenbourg and Carlsberg. Wine and hard liquor will also be served. The menu is traditional British pub food including shepherd’s pie and fish & chips. Homemade burgers, pasta dishes and breakfast sandwiches are also on the menu.

The opening is just in time for World Cup craziness and the pub is ready. For the next month the business hours will depend on the tournament schedule. For example, they’ll show the Argentina V. Nigeria game live this Saturday morning at 7 a.m. There are five big screen TV’s and you can see at least one TV from every seat in the place including the outdoor patio in front (they checked.) If The Market Arms doesn’t have a game on, the George and Dragon will be showing it. The schedule of what they’re showing can be found here, the George and Dragon TV schedule can be found here.
