The 43rd District legislators are hosting a town hall meeting this Saturday, February 20, at Seattle First Baptist Church (1111 Harvard Ave, see map) from 1:30-3:00 p.m.  Senator Ed Murray, House Speaker Frank Chopp  and Representative Jamie Pedersen will update constituents on the 2010 Legislative Session and answer questions ranging from the state budget crisis to replacement of the SR 520 bridge.  The Legislative Session began in January and continues through mid-March.

Can someone ask why Pedersen supports legalized land theft (aka adverse possession)? There was a bill introduced, HB 1479, that would have put an end to this arcane, unjust and unnecessary law, but Pedersen secretly shot it down. Why no hearing? Is it because lawyers (Pedersen's #1 campaign contributors) stand to make $30-to-50K per adverse possession lawsuit that kept him silent? Or, does he just think it is okay for people to take something without paying for it?
