Vote for your favorite gingerbread house

Logan’s Hammer, the custom home building and renovation company, kicked off their 2nd Annual Gingerbread House Build Off this weekend to benefit charity.  The contest has local architect firms competing against each other to design, bake and build gingerbread houses for the public to view and then vote on as the ‘People’s Choice’.  The winner will get $1,000 donated to the local charity that they choose.  Logan’s Hammer founder Sean Meek says, “This contest is one of the ways we get to give back to our community; we are able to promote some great charities and it is an event that is fun for the whole family.”

This is a peek at just a few of the amazing entries this year:

DeForest Architecture

Defending champs DeForest Architecture is competing for Treehouse and their design seems quite appropriate.

Whitney Architecture

DeForest better look out, though.  Whitney Architects really wants that prize money to go to the Ballard Food Bank.

Sortun-Vos Architects

Hot on their heels is Sortun-Vos Architects, who are hoping to give the Low Income Housing Institute a helping hand this holiday season.

All of the designs can be viewed in person at Theo Chocolate (3400 Phinney Ave N) Saturdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  You can drop off a vote for your favorite gingerbread house in a ballot box at Theo or you can vote online here.  Voting ends December 17 and the winner will be announced on December 18.  Good luck to everyone!
