Fremont neighbors throw a block party

To celebrate Seafair, Fremont residents on Whitman Ave. — a block over from the Troll — threw quite the block party on Saturday night.

We stopped by to shoot a few photos.

They closed off the street and brought in two music acts and a comedy show.

This is Jason Yano from the West Seattle Pleasure Club performing.

They served beer from the brand new Fremont Brewery, and the kids drew designs in chalk on the sidewalks. A great way to meet the neighbors. Remember, this Tuesday night is the city of Seattle’s “Night Out Against Crime” events, and you can register as late as Monday to close off your street.
