Big fight at Fremont bar

By master · March 23rd, 2009 · 8 Comments

Around 1:30 a.m. this morning, police responded to The Ballroom for a report of 30 people fighting inside and outside the club. Two women were among those in the brawl. Reports the Seattle 911 Blog:

Both women were arrested and continued to yell and scream while an officer read them their Miranda rights, according to a police report. At the North Precinct, one of the women told officers she was going to file a sexual harassment complaint and did not cooperate with officer requests to remove her jewelry.

Fremont is no stranger to club-related altercations. Back in January, shots were fired into the air near The Ballroom. And earlier this month, police were called to an assault at the nearby club, Nectar.

I’m not surprised. As much as I love Fremont, I hate it at night on the weekends.

Stop over-serving punks (male or female), problem solved!
I was told to check out the ballroom, I’ll pass.

When I wrote the management of The Ballroom after the gun incident, they assured me that they will begin patting down customers on Friday and Saturday nights. What they failed to explain is why The Ballroom is the only licensed establishment in the neighborhood that insists on attracting customers that need to be patted down.

There is not sufficient law enforcement patrols in the neighborhood to handle the hoodlums and thugs that The Ballroom insists on attracting. They belong in Pioneer Square or the U-District.

It pains me to refuse to patronize The Ballroom, because I know some of the people who work there and I like them, but ownership is more interested in lining their pockets than running a business that benefits the Fremont neighborhood, and I hope they either change their attitude or go away.

don't patronize these places and the problem will go away. simple as that. look at the other businesses that have folded due to lack of interest.

all the wankscrotes from UW's frat-row, Snohomish County and some thugs from the South Sound all migrate over on the weekends, … its unbearable. The Ballroom should be shutdown for douchebaggery related crimes.

I'll say it again: The Ballroom should become a gay bar. It would be good for Fremont and probably better money for the employees of the establishment.

Ballroom is far and away the worst bar in Fremont. I havent been there in a couple of years and for good reason. They should move to Belltown where they belong.

I love Fremont but the only place I can go on the weekend is Dad Watsons. That way I don't have to see all the douche bags in lower Fremont, although I DO end up hearing their fights, bottle breaking and drunk driving accidents outside of my Apt at 3 am.

It's unbearable. I agree, the Ballroom should become a gay bar.
